A lot of people ask what we do at cross country practice.
The short answer, of course, is “We run!”
However, there is more to it than that, and that will be the focus of this two week cross country conditioning camp.
We will run each day, but we’ll also focus on:
• A proper warm-up/cool-down
• Dynamic/static stretching
• Drills
• Workouts (hills, tempo runs, repeats, fartleks, long runs, recovery runs, etc.)
The camp will be led by Ravenwood and Woodland coaches Pete Mueller and Andrew Swanson, assisted by Ravenwood runners. We’ll have multiple training groups, so regardless of whether you’re a new or experienced runner, you’ll be running the appropriate distance at the appropriate pace. At the end of the summer you’ll have improved cardiovascular fitness, and will be ready physically and mentally for the upcoming cross country season. Plus, you’ll make some good friends and have a lot of fun!
This camp serves as our primary fundraiser to help pay for transportation,
accommodations, equipment, apparel, and awards.
